Guests participate in lectures, dance lessons, fitness classes, afternoon teas, bingo and more. One of the line's most unique offerings is the Culinary Arts Center, presented by Food and Wine Magazine, in which guests have the opportunity to attend cooking demonstrations by special guest chefs and take part in hands-on cooking classes in each ship's state-of-the-art kitchen.

Many of Holland America's popular ships are undergoing updates under the Signature of Excellence program, including the addition of new entertainment venues, a resort-style pool, as well as updates to ship decor in public areas and staterooms throughout. These significant ship enhancements will be complete in early 2011.
