One of Costa’s largest ships, the Costa Serena exudes a comfortable elegance that is evident in the ship’s well-designed spaces and stylish decor. At 112,000 tons, the Serena is certainly not lacking in amenities and services. Health enthusiasts can take advantage of the two-deck fitness area and spa, four swimming pools (two with retractable roofs), five hot tubs and a tennis court. Entertainment is provided in the three-level Giove Theatre and Luna Lounge with cabaret acts, dancers and specialty programs. With a disco nightclub, 13 bars and lounges and casino, guests enjoy non-stop activities. This ship also features an art gallery, plenty of shopping, a library and virtual world game room. Dining options are plentiful as well with access to five restaurants serving everything from elegant multicourse meals to delicious casual fare. Families with kids will enjoy babysitting services, a playground, video arcade and teen center. Cabin features include television, telephone, in-room safe, mini-bar and 24-hour room service, in addition to several special amenities, such as a pillow menu, daily delivery of lunch and dinner menus, the complimentary use of bathrobe and slippers, and a nice selection of bath products. Guests in Samsara cabins and suites enjoy direct access to the spa and preferred seating at the Samsara Restaurant, which specializes in low-fat, low-calorie cuisine. On cruises that depart during the months of March and April, Costa requires that at least one passenger in each cabin be 25 or older.
